A Disney hamarosan a 21st Century Foxot is bekebelezi
Ráadásul két Star Wars-vidámparkot is nyitnak.

Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger on Wednesday (15 July 2015) revealed details of the highly anticipated resort during a presentation at Shanghai Expo Center, unveiling a scale model of the resort that showcased the main attractions, entertainment venues, dining options and hotels. "We are building something truly special here in Shanghai that not only showcases the best of Disney's storytelling but also celebrates and incorporates China's incredibly rich heritage to create a one-of-a-kind destination that will delight and entertain the people of China for generations to come,"Iger said. "We are taking everything we've learned from our six decades of exceeding expectations' along with our relentless innovation and famous creativity to create a truly magical place that is both authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese,"Iger added. Shanghai Disney Resort, part of the Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone, is a complete vacation destination and at opening will include Enchanted Storybook Castle, a theme park with Adventure Isle, Gardens of Imagination, Mickey Avenue, Tomorrowland, Treasure Cove and Fantasyland. Both Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel will be located near the theme park. Disneytown, an international shopping, dining and entertainment district, adjacent to Shanghai Disneyland and including the Walt Disney Grand Theater, home to the first-ever Mandarin production of the Broadway musical "The Lion King." The resort will also include Wishing Star Park, which features beautiful gardens, a walking path and a glittering lake.

A Disney hamarosan nyélbe üti a 21st Century Fox felvásárlását – mondta el csütörtökön Bob Iger Disney-főnök a hollywoodi filmvállalat részvényeseinek éves közgyűlésén, ahol arról is beszámolt, hogy nyáron megnyílik a Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge elnevezésű vidámpark a Disney két szórakoztató parkjában.
A részvényeseket Iger arról tájékoztatta, hogy hamarosan nyélbe ütik a 71,3 milliárd dolláros (20 101 milliárd forintos) tranzakciót, amelynek révén a 21st Century Fox is a Disneyhez kerül. Megjegyezte, hogy a felvásárlás révén a Foxtól nemcsak jelentős mennyiségű produkció és programanyag kerül a Disneyhez, hanem a menedzsment tapasztalt szakemberei is.
A Disney tervei szerint megtart néhány 20th Century Foxhoz fűződő produkciót, elsősorban mozifilmeket.
„Folytatjuk a filmek gyártását a Fox és a Fox Searchlight-branddel, és az FX neve is megmarad” – tette hozzá Iger.
A Disney-főnök bejelentette, hogy a Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge május 31-én Anaheimben, augusztus 29-én pedig Orlandóban nyílik meg a közönség előtt.
Iger hangsúlyozta, hogy az új Star Wars-témájú látványosság messze a legnagyobb területet foglalja el, amit eddig építettek. A Galaxy's Edge-en belül létrehozott The Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance című attrakciót „a technológiailag legfejlettebb, legelragadóbb” látványosságként írta le, amelyet valaha a Disneynél álmodtak. „Ilyen nagyságrendben még senki sem próbálkozott ezelőtt” – idézte a Disney-vállallat vezetőjét a Variety.com.
